To view it, you should be 2 - 8 feet away depending on the picture size; stare at the join of the two pictures, cross your eyes slightly then gradually relax them.
At one point your left eye will see the right picture, and your right eye will see the left picture.
If you manage to hold your gaze at this point, you will see three images side by side -- the middle one will appear in 3D. The effect is amazing!

The photos were taken 4 inches apart and swapped left-right. It's easy to do, but you must ensure there is no movement of the subject between shots.
